12 Things to Do in Dallas for Sports Fans

Dallas is the ideal city for sports. From the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium to the Texas Motor Speedway, whatever your sport of choice, the DFW metroplex has you covered. Join us as we go over twelve things to do in Dallas for sports fans.

Dallas Cowboys Football Game

The Dallas Cowboys, who play at the AT&T Stadium in the DFW city of Arlington, are the most valuable sports team in the world with a franchise worth $5 billion dollars. They hold the NFL record for most game sellouts. The team also has the second most Super Bowl appearances, has won the Super Bowl five times, and is the only NFL team with 21 straight winning seasons.

For the Super Fans

The Star in Frisco is the headquarters and practice facility for the Dallas Cowboys, but also has entertainment, shops, and restaurants. Book a private VIP tour to get behind the scenes.

Dallas Mavericks Basketball Game

The Mavericks, based in downtown Dallas, are known for putting on a great show, and they regularly have sold out games. Be sure to stick around for the halftime show, where the ManiAACs, the self-styled “hip-hop dance troupe of beefy men,” perform for Mavericks fans. They also have special guests, like World of Dance champions The Lab. Dallas Police Department has even done a surprise dance number on the court.

For the Super Fans

Attend one of the Mavericks Basketball Camps. Available for kids of all ages (adults too!), and even a camp for aspiring dancers.

Dallas Stars Hockey Game

Watch the Stars hit the ice at American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas. The Dallas Stars have won eight division titles and won the 1999 Stanley Cup. Whether or not this team is on a winning streak, they always give the best for their fans, and the atmosphere at a Stars game is electric.

For the Super Fans

Take the kids to a StarCenter hockey or ice-skating clinic sponsored by the team.

Texas Rangers Baseball Game

Visit the Rangers in their new Globe Life Field in March 2020. Globe Life Field, located in the DFW town of Arlington, is the first ballpark of its kind and has a retractable roof to protect game day from the weather. The franchise also has some of the best concessions in the MLB. The Rangers beat the Yankees 6-1 in their final game at the now retired Globe Life Park in 2019, which was the same score against the Yankees that took them to the World Series in 2010. With a little baseball superstition, you might expect the Rangers to have a good year.

For the Super Fans

Check out the Legends of the Game Baseball Museum and view 135 items loaned from the Baseball Hall of Fame.

FC Dallas Soccer Game

FC Dallas are two-time winners of the U.S. Open Cup, and runners up for the MLS Cup. The 2019 season saw them training up new recruits, so the 2020 season should see some excellent games out of this team which plays out of the Dallas suburban town of Frisco.

For the Super Fans

The National Soccer Hall of Fame is located in Toyota Stadium, home of FC Dallas, so stop by to see soccer legend memorabilia and the interactive exhibits.

Texas Motor Speedway

Catch a race at this premier facility located in Fort Worth. Texas Motor Speedway hosts two NASCAR Cup Series races, two NASCAR Xfinity Series races, the IndyCar Series race, and two NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series races. The Speedway has a 20,622 square foot television (the biggest LED TV screen in the world, when it was first installed) so you don’t miss a second of the action.

For the Super Fans

Sign up for one of the Driver School Experiences, where you can get behind the wheel of a real NASCAR, Mario Andretti, and other race cars.
