    About the Area

    The Town of Bluffton is located in Beaufort County, the southernmost coastal county in South Carolina. It is situated on a high bluff overlooking the May River, a pristine waterway that has strongly contributed to the Town's history and continued success. Bluffton is located just 12 miles west of Hilton Head Island, SC and approximately 20 miles northeast of Savannah, GA. It is also easily accessible from Intrastate Highways 46, 170, and 278 and Interstate 95.

    City Overview

    Just minutes down the road from Bluffton, you'll find Hilton Head Island. A golfer's paradise, Hilton Head features an extensive selection of courses, many of which are tied to resorts. When not on the greens, most visitors spend their days basking in sunshine and ocean breezes, strolling on the island's wide, peaceful beach and catching waves in the Atlantic. Hilton Head's number one landmark, the Harbour Town Lighthouse, draws folks to the surrounding marina and shopping center, where they may admire the docked yachts, browse storefronts, and cool off with an ice cream cone. Boat tours, such as the popular dolphin cruise departing from the marina, give guests an opportunity to view native wildlife, nearby islands and learn about the history of the area.

Located in Sea Pines, Harbour Town Golf Links is the premier site for tournaments and hosts the PGA Verizon Heritage Classic each year. Skilled players vie for the opportunity to play at Golf Links or its sister course at Long Cove Club. Its shore, water, trees and wetlands have been protected with care, and other attractions, from legendary greens to picturesque marinas, only enhance the island. Whether swinging clubs on a world-famous course or watching a breathtaking sunrise on the beach, vacationers and residents agree this scenic destination offers timeless appeal and unexpected thrills.

    Shopping

    Hilton Head's number one landmark, the Harbour Town Lighthouse, draws folks to the surrounding marina and shopping center, where residents may admire the docked yachts, browse storefronts, and cool off with an ice cream cone. Many topnotch restaurants draw on the island's personality and offer magnificent seafood and Southern cuisine. Other restaurants, specializing in international cuisine, present appealing alternatives to traditional island fare; upscale bars and lounges add another dimension to island life. As for shopping, waterside shopping centers and numerous gift and souvenir shops cater to vacationers, but you'll also find art galleries, specialty stores and a highly popular outlet mall.
