Meet Your Lifestyle Director
My name is Erin Gormley and I am the Lifestyle Director at the Arbour Lodge at Glenbrooke. I am so excited that you have chosen to become a part of the vibrant lifestyle that we have begun within the Glenbrooke Community! The staff at the Arbour Lodge, Glenbrooke’s 9,000 square foot Recreation Center, is here to assist you in becoming involved in the numerous activities and events occurring each and every day!
Below are some of the lifestyle happenings in our community:
Recreation: If you love outdoor recreation, the Glenbrooke community has everything you need; two full size tennis courts, two bocce courts, a putting green, a par course, walking trails, and a lap pool and spa.
Indoor Activities: You can play your favorite card game or pick up a new hobby in our Activities Room. Weekly card games include canasta, Mexican train, pinochle, and bridge. We also have art classes, travel presentations, health and wellness talks, and more!
Interest Groups: Join a group of residents who share similar interests! We have everything from a Book Club, a Walking Group, Arts and Crafts Group, Bunco, Singles, Knitting and Sewing, Photography, Pet Group, and more! Also, if you have an interest that doesn’t have an existing group, then the Lifestyle Director will help you start your own.
Social Events: If you’re looking to make new friends, what better way to become acquainted than at our many special events? Each month you can enjoy yourself in a variety of settings; everything from theme parties, dinner dances, live bands, wine tasting, and more!
Fitness: At the Arbour Lodge, we have a state-of-the-art fitness center, filled with treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, and strength and resistance machines for each muscle group. We also have fitness classes such as Yoga, Zumba, Strength and Conditioning, Line Dancing, and Aerobics.

Elk Grove offers city wide amenities with the neighborhoods revealing a small town charm. Spring, summer, and fall months bring community events from the Western Festival to Elk Grove Giant Pumpkin ahd Harvest Festival. Elk Grove has a variety of entertainment and shopping venues with even more available in nearby Sacramento.

Elk Grove offers a plethora of shopping choices on its two main strips, Laguna Boulevard and Elk Grove Boulevard. Everything from grocery stores such as Bel-Air, Longs, Trader Joe's, and The Nugget Market, to shopping options like Old Navy, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Cost Plus, Best Buy, Pier 1, Target, Borders, Kohls, Dress Barn, Rite Aid, Lowes, Costco, Sports Authority, and many more. And don't forget that Old Town and Downtown Sacramento shopping is only a quick 15 minutes away!
Recreation
The Elk Grove area offers a variety of recreational activities including a number of parks such as the Elk Grove Regional Park, Laguna Creek Parkway offering a trail system, Laguna community dog park, Morse Dog Park, Stone Lake nature preserve area, and the Barbara Morse Wackford Community and Aquatic Complex. Many more recreational facilities and parks in the area offer something for everyone.
Medical
Elk Grove contains two predominant medical facilities and is within close proximity to a third: Sutter Medical Group of Elk Grove (916-691-5900); UC Davis Medical Center of Elk Grove (916- 683-3955); and Kaiser Permanente of Sacramento (916-688-2000). Also, South Sacramento Medical Center and Elk Grove Medical Offices are alternate options.
Culture / Entertainment
Dining options range from family fare to fine dining. Besides the well known chains such as Mimi's Cafe and Logan's Roadhouse steakhouse, there are independent favorites like Mel Dog's Cafe, Elk Grove Brewery and Restaurant, Sweet Bean of Laguna, and Sunnyrose Cafe. Boulevard Bistro, Brickhouse, BJ's Brewery, Outback Steakhouse, Panera Bread, Chili's, Chevys are also local options for your dining occasion. Every taste is satisfied! Community pride is alive and well in Elk Grove with celebrations and events like the Annual Community Harvest and Giant Pumpkin Festival; Elk Grove Western Festival; Chamber's salute to Red, White and Blue; Strauss Festival of Elk Grove; and the Wilton's Firefighters Chili Cook-off. While the valley continues to grow, old fashioned charm can still be found in Old Town Elk Grove.
