The local school district, East Pen, is a great district that includes the boroughs of Emmaus, Macungie and Alburtis as well as the Lower Macungie and Upper Milford Townships. The district is located north of Philadelphia and two miles west of Allentown, Pennsylvania. The student population is approximately 6,850, and 481 professionals are employed as teachers and administrators. There are eight elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school in the district. Some of those schools include Emmaus High School, an accredited, four-year comprehensive high school (610-965-1655); Eyer Middle School (610-965-1600); and Lower Macungie Elementary School (610-395-2341).
