    If you enjoy spending time outdoors, check out the National Whitewater Center or one of the many parks throughout Charlotte for hiking, mountain biking, or picnicking. Located in the Piedmont Region, Charlotte is within a two hour drive of the beautiful national parks and forests to the west, letting you enjoy the mountain views, fall colors, and winter sports.     Directions
    • From I-485 East:
    • Take I-485 East to Exit 59/Rea Rd and turn right
    • Turn left onto Ballantyne Commons Pkwy
    • Turn right onto Tom Short Rd and travel approximately 1.5 miles
    • Turn right on Red Water Rd into Stone Creek Ranch
    • Turn right on Blue Grove Rd, and the Welcome Center is straight ahead
