About the Area
Southwest Florida is a great location. Obviously, the close proximity to the beach is a major drawing card, but there's also a sizeable amount of city amenities that enhance and add to your active lifestyle.
Shopping
There are many prestigious shopping destinations near Sandoval. Edison Mall features several department stores as well as 150 specialty stores. Tanger Outlets offers great brand name manufacturers' outlet stores. Coconut Point includes up to 1.4 million square feet of retail and 7 acres of lakes with a boardwalk bordered by a variety of great restaurants. Gulf Coast Town Center features several department stores, a movie theatre, restaurants, and specialty stores. The Bell Tower Shops includes popular shops, fine restaurants, and a large movie theatre. Miromar Outlets features more than 120 top designer and great brand name manufacturers' outlets, and occasionally features entertainment including live music and water-skiing shows.
Recreation
You will have a hard time running out of things to do in the southwest Florida area. The Philharmonic Center for the Arts is the premier performing arts hall in southwest Florida, hosting more than 400 events a year, including world-class dance, opera, classical, popular music, and Broadway musicals. Over the past 44 years, the Southwest Florida Symphony has grown from a small community orchestra to the area's only professional orchestra. The Germain Arena hosts professional hockey, arena football, and basketball games along with many concerts and professional ice-skating spectaculars, and the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall features live entertainment ranging from classical music to Broadway shows.
Transportation
There are many modes of transportation available in the Southwest Florida area. These include: Southwest Florida International and Naples Municipal Airports, Sea Key West Shuttle, Collier Area Transit (CAT) and LeeTran. Greyhound and Amtrak also serve the area. If you're driving, I-75 can take you anywhere you need to go quickly.
