    Lake St. Louis began in 1966 as a private recreational Lake and became a city in 1975. While the recreational aspects of the Lakes were the driving force to the draw of the area, the city now offers municipal services including police, public works, municipal courts, building inspections, community development and code enforcement. The Civic enter houses the Lake St. Louis City Hall and Police Department and there is a new Public works facility as well.

    Population

    Lake St. Louis currently has a population of around 14,000 although this number continues to grow with new area development.

    While the city of Lake St. Louis is centered around two large lakes providing the obvious opportunity for water recreation, there is so much more to participate in. The historic Katy trail is nearby providing the opportunity to bike the route that Lewis and Clark took as they explored Missouri. Busch Memorial Conservation Area is also minutes away for those nature lovers. And the August area "Missouri wine country" which features ten different wineries to enjoy is a mere 16 miles as well.

    Lake St. Louis is serviced by the Wentzville RIV school district which has receive the "Distinction in Performance" award since 2006. The district was also voted one of the top places to work in 2012 by the St. Louis Post Dispatch.

    Shopping

    The Meadows of Lake St. Louis feature an upscale shopping an dining experience just 1.5 miles from this community! Over 30 retailers are represented including Von Maur, Bed Bath and Beyond, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Christopher and Banks, Cache, New York and Company, Charming Charlie, Francesca's Collections, Coldwater Creek, Jos.     Transportation

    Conveniently located off of Highway 64/40 and just minutes from highway 70, you can get virtually anywhere in the St. Louis area within 45 minutes! The Lambert St. Louis Airport is a 30 mile ride from the neighborhood making it convenient for travel as well.
